Why video

Guests want to know what it feels like before they commit

A remote lodge or a premium resort is a high-consideration purchase. People compare, hesitate, and look for reasons to trust you. A two-minute film that shows the arrival, the rooms, the food, the guides and the landscape answers more of their questions than any gallery, and it does it in the order they would experience it.

The properties I work with put their film on the homepage, on booking pages and across social channels, and they report more direct bookings, more website traffic and more engagement after launch. The video also gives your team something to send: to press, to travel agents, to a group organizer who is choosing between three places.

How a shoot runs

Planned around your guest journey and your light

We start with a call about who your guests are and what you want the film to do. From that I build a shot list that follows the stay: arrival by boat, plane or road, the rooms, the meals, the activities, the evenings. Most shoots run two to four days on site so I can work the best light at sunrise and dusk and wait out weather when I have to.

Where it is permitted, drone footage is part of every video shoot, because the setting is usually the strongest thing a property has to show. I film real guests and staff whenever possible, with releases handled up front, so the film feels like your place rather than a stock reel.

How long does a video shoot take?

Usually two to four days on site, depending on the size of the property and how many activities we are covering. That gives me sunrise and dusk light on more than one day and room to wait out weather.

How long until we receive the finished videos?

You see a first cut within two to three weeks of the shoot. Revisions typically take another week or two, depending on how quickly feedback comes back.

Do you shoot vertical video for Instagram and TikTok?

Yes. I plan and frame for vertical and square cuts on the shoot itself rather than cropping a widescreen film afterwards, so the social versions look intentional.

Is drone footage included?

Wherever it is legal to fly, yes. I am a licensed drone pilot and check airspace and park rules for your location before we plan the shoot.

Can we use the video in paid advertising?

Yes. Every project comes with full usage rights across web, social, paid ads, trade shows and press. The music is licensed for commercial use.

Can you film our guests and staff?

Yes, and it usually makes the film better. I bring release forms and work around your guests so the shoot never feels intrusive.

What happens if the weather turns?

Coastal and alpine weather is part of the job. I build flexibility into the schedule, shoot interiors and details when it is grey, and use the dramatic conditions when they help the story.

Can we add photography or a virtual tour to the same trip?

Yes, and most clients do. Booking video, photography, drone and a 360° tour together means one trip, one consistent look across everything, and a lower total cost than booking each separately.
