Drone and aerial

Drone videography and aerial photography for lodges, resorts and hotels

Your setting is your strongest selling point. Aerial footage shows the coastline, the valley, the lake or the ridgeline your property sits in, and how it all fits together, in a way no ground-level photo can.

Why aerials

Context is what sells a remote stay

Guests choosing a lodge on an inlet or a cabin above the treeline want to understand where they are going. An aerial shot answers that in three seconds: how far from the water, how close to the glacier, how alone you will be. It is the establishing shot for every film I make and, very often, the image a property ends up using on its homepage.

Aerials also do a job no other format can for multi-building properties: they show the layout. Guests can see where their cabin sits relative to the lodge, the dock and the trailhead, which removes a whole category of pre-booking questions.

What I capture

Establishing shots, reveals and the view from above

Slow reveals over a ridge or through the trees, orbits of the main lodge at golden hour, flyovers of the grounds, and tracking shots of the activities that define the place: kayaks in the strait, a boat leaving the dock, skiers on the glacier, hikers on the trail. High-resolution aerial stills for print and web, vertical crops for social, and aerial 360° panoramas that drop into a virtual tour so guests can look around from the sky.

Flying responsibly

Licensed, planned and respectful of the place

I fly as a licensed drone pilot under Transport Canada rules and plan every flight for the specific location, including airspace checks and any permissions the site requires. Many national and provincial parks restrict drone flights, so I check the rules for your property before we plan anything and tell you plainly what is and is not possible. On site I fly around wildlife, guests and neighbours with the same care I would want at my own place.

Next step

Tell me about your property and what you need. I will come back with options and a quote.

01

Discovery call

We discuss your property, goals, and what content will move the needle. No pressure or jargon: just a conversation about what you need and how we'd work together.

02

On-site shoot

I travel to your location, combining photo, video, drone, and virtual tour in one visit where possible. Remote and fly-in properties are a specialty.

03

Edit and refine

You receive a first cut for review, typically within two to three weeks of the shoot. We refine until you're completely satisfied.

04

Deliver and deploy

Full usage rights, high-resolution originals, and organized file delivery, ready for your website, booking platforms, social channels, and press.

Are you licensed to fly commercially?

Yes. I hold the Transport Canada pilot certification required for the work I do and plan every flight for the location, including airspace checks and permissions where they are needed.

Can you fly at our property if it is in or near a park?

It depends on the park. Most national parks and many provincial parks restrict drone use, and some allow it with a permit. I check the rules for your exact location before we plan the shoot and tell you what is possible up front.

What about wind and weather?

Coastal and mountain weather is part of every shoot I do. I build flexibility into the schedule so we can fly in the calm windows, usually early morning and evening, which also happen to be the best light.

Do you deliver aerial photos as well as video?

Yes. Every aerial shoot produces both cinematic clips and high-resolution stills, plus vertical crops for social and, if you have a virtual tour, aerial 360° panoramas.

Can we book a drone-only shoot?

Yes, although most clients combine aerials with photography, video or a virtual tour in the same trip because the travel and planning are shared and the total cost is lower.

How do you handle guest privacy?

I plan flights and timing with your team so guests are never surprised by a drone, keep a respectful distance from people who have not agreed to be filmed, and use releases for anyone who appears recognizably.
