Nootka Marine Adventures
Four virtual tours covering three resorts and the guide fleet, for a client whose guests book before they can ever visit.
Challenge
Nootka Marine Adventures runs three fishing resorts on the west coast of Vancouver Island, and no two are alike. Moutcha Bay is the drive-in property, two and a half hours from Campbell River with the last stretch on gravel, offering everything from RV sites to cedar yurts and waterfront chalets. Nootka Sound Resort is a floating lodge. Newton Cove is the most remote of the three, reachable only by boat or floatplane.
That range is a selling point and a problem at once. A guest weighing a multi-day trip cannot drop in to look around, and "remote fishing lodge" covers everything from a bunk in a cabin to an ensuite suite with chef-cooked meals. The gap between those two pictures is exactly where a booking stalls, and it had to be closed before the guest ever arrived.
Approach
I shot all three resorts plus the guide fleet across the 2024 and 2025 seasons, building four separate tours rather than one combined walkthrough. Each property sells to a slightly different guest, so each needed to stand on its own and be sendable on its own.
The coverage went deep where the questions are. Moutcha Bay alone runs to 35 panoramas, working through the cedar yurts, the waterfront chalets, every lodge suite configuration, the marina and the dock shack. Nootka Sound and Newton Cove cover the floating lodges room by room. The fourth tour is the fleet itself, so anglers can stand on the deck of a guide boat and see the setup before they commit to a day on the water.
Aerial panoramas anchor each property in its setting, which matters when the setting is the reason people come and when "how remote is it, really" is a question the photos have to answer honestly. Sixty-four panoramas across the four tours.
Outcome
The tours are now part of how Nootka Marine Adventures sells. They are featured across the company website and deep-linked at the accommodation level, so a guest reading about the cedar yurts or a waterfront chalet lands inside that specific unit rather than at the front gate. The team uses them directly in the sales conversation when a guest is weighing one resort, or one room type, against another.
They also commissioned an offline build, so the full set runs without a connection at consumer shows and trade events, where the tours do the same job in person that they do on the website.
Ben is exceptional, highly professional and truly outstanding in his work. He did an excellent job creating virtual tours of our two floating resorts in Nootka Sound. Despite tight weather windows, Ben worked efficiently and effectively to complete our shot list.
